Monday – Lunch at the Beach, and dinner following after a day in the sun!
Bring your beach blankets, towels, sunblock and snacks, and join other friends from NCSC as we enjoy a nice day swimming in the surf and lounging on the beach! Lose the shoes, forego the salt and skip the sharks because we’re going to beautiful Lake Michigan – the 6th largest freshwater lake in the world and the 3rd largest of the North American Great Lakes.
The Grand Haven beach of Lake Michigan is famous for its soft-sand beaches and picturesque lighthouses. Looking for a break from the surf, enjoy a walk along the 1.5 mile boardwalk that spans from Lake Michigan over to downtown Grand Haven. At the beginning of the boardwalk are two beautiful historic lighthouses guarding the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. The boardwalk is a 3 mile round trip and runs along the harbor, which is lined with shops, restaurants, marinas and charter fishing boats.
Time:
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. (as it’s a 2 ½ drive, we’ll arrive around 12:30 for lunch, and we’ll plan for the beach from 2:00-6:00, followed by a nice dinner before we begin the drive back)
Cost: $75.00 for transportation, plus lunch and dinner (pay your own). Space is limited to 14. Only a few spots left!
