Wednesday, August 14

  • Morning Mass at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church
Meet in the lobby of the Sahara hotel at 7 am and head to 7:30 am Mass at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church.
  • Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and Fountains
Come and see the iconic Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens! Each year they do something unique and wonderful – this year’s exhibit features hot air balloons hovering above beautiful fountains and extraordinary flora. We will gather in the lobby of the Sahara at 9:15 am and then head to lunch at Beer Park overlooking the Bellagio fountains. There is no fee for the Conservatory, so the only fees incurred will be the cost of lunch.
  • “The Narrows” Hike at Zion National Park
Join us for an all-day trip hiking the Virgin River in “The Narrows” slot canyon at Zion National Park. This is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! Portions of this gorge are merely 20 feet wide at the river level, with rock walls towering 1500 feet above! The Narrows boasts mystical waterfalls, other-worldly colorful mineral deposits, canyon walls with gothic proportions and hazy, cathedral-esque lighting. The cold water and depth of the gorge ensure a cooler experience, despite the desert heat above. Our day includes a 3-hour van drive to Zion National Park (through the beautiful Virgin River Gorge at daybreak), breakfast in the van, lunch on the trail, dinner at a restaurant after the hike (not included in the cost) and drive back to Las Vegas. Our targeted return time is 11:00pm.
  • Dinner at the Yard House followed by a visit to the High Roller Observation Wheel
Meet in the lobby of the Sahara at 3:45 pm and head for the LINQ Promenade for dinner at the Yard House. At 7:30 pm we will head to the High Roller Observation Wheel – a 30 minute ride to watch the sunset and the city of Las Vegas light up from 550 feet in the air. Join for dinner, the High Roller or both!

Because of its remote location, it would become one of the most lawless places throughout the west during the 1800s. For hundreds of years, Indians, Spaniards and early explorers did battle, a military outpost was established and one of Nevada’s richest gold mines discovered. Tour of the mine will be followed by Noon Mass.
