Wine and Tango at Motor City Wine bar – Motown (Detroit)

Join us to head downtown to the Corktown neighborhood for an early dinner at Slow’s BBQ, followed by a stop at the Motor City Wine Bar! Wednesday is Tango night, so we’ll need to find seats before 6:00 pm, in order to be ready by the 6:30 pm tango lesson. Tango dancing will follow from 7:30-10:30. This is a great opportunity to see the tango performed, possibly to learn how to tango yourself (if the lesson sticks), and to actually dance the tango!
Note: Be sure to bring a “placeholder,” like an extra layer of clothing, to leave on your seat while taking the Tango lesson or dancing after. However, be mindful not to leave unattended your purse or backpack (or anything you wouldn’t want taken).

Schedule (Subject to change):

3:45 p.m. – Meet up with the event’s group leader in the lobby at St John’s Resort to arrange carpooling or to call your Uber ride

4:00 p.m. – Depart from from St John’s

4:30 p.m. – Arrive at Slow’s BBQ and enjoy a nice dinner in Corktown

5:45 p.m. – Depart from Slow’s BBQ to head 2-3 blocks over to The Motown Wine Bar (also right there in Corktown)

6:00 p.m. – Claim your seats at The Motown Wine Bar, and browse their selection of wine

6:30 p.m. – Enjoy the free tango lesson

7:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. – Tango dancing (Dancing is scheduled to run from 7:30-10:30, however folks are welcome to return earlier if they wish or to stay until closing – or anytime suitable.  It is strongly recommended that everyone finds a friend to travel safely with, especially when leaving the bar and heading back.)

Time: 3:45pm – 10:30 pm

Cost: Cost varies per person, as this event is pay-as-you-go.  For those participating in the carpool and don’t have your own vehicle: Please make sure that you have enough cash or can Venmo or Payal the driver and chip in toward gas/parking. If there are not enough vehicles then you will need to share an Uber/Lyft. And then on your own for dinner, wine and gratuities.
